Writing a novel at nearly eighty years of age

I am reflecting on the release of my first novel, at the tender age of 78 years. It is easy to say that I can bring a more experienced viewpoint when writing; but the actual process takes a deal of stamina, not just physical but, unexpectedly, mental also. What age does, while accepting that experience may play a part, is that my ability to pace my writing became ever more noticeable. What this did was allow me to contemplate a little while longer, giving sufficient time for ideas to come forward. Anyone reading this who has thought about writing anything more than a scribble, get something down on paper or to screen and then take a moment to reflect.
